Children’s Book Self Assessment

For the group research project. My group decided to do a children’s book. The children’s book was based on the topic of HIV from the literature review assignment. Once we decided that we were going to do a children’s book, there was already a problem. The problem was that we had to figure out how to turn the topic of HIV into a children’s book. We decided on a couple of ideas of what we can do to help it target children, such as using bright, vibrant colors, family-friendly images, and writing simply so that the book will be easy to follow. By doing this, I was able to complete objective 3. When it came to writing the children’s book, we wrote it very simply so that it would be easy for a child to read and understand the topics we were talking about for HIV. We were also cautious of the wording when it came to the subtopics, discrimination, poverty, and drug use. We didn’t want it to sound too degrading or hurtful. By doing these things, I was able to complete objectives 5 and 9.
